Artist's Comments

ok huge amount of work and working hours were placed into this piece

let me just add that i didnt use any custom made brushes for this
i painted it all using a the default brush from ps :P

and it works better when it comes to detailing and illustration but for concepts i rather use custom ones because it just takes too many time for a concept
here it was done intentionally

The hammer is an original design and screw anyone who says otherwise

"Ivor Onçnalog, he's a blacksmith, brother to Rovi and a Lora Onçnalog, Son to Ortiz Onçnalog the dwarven blacksmith of the golden anvil. Son of a Dwarf and an Elf he and his sister were always pushed aside by Ortiz as his sister turned out to be a Elf from her mother side and Ivor a 7 foot human crossed with an Elf. Rovi got all of Ortiz's attention for being the only one of the three childs to turn out a dwarf.
Ivor alongside his childhood friend Martien, served as general under the orders of king Razikiel brother to Raziel current King of Amaldan until the day Razikiel was overthrown and Raziel became the ruler of the land. Being forcefully retired Ivor went his separate path and ended up on the small village of Riverran, but one day he found a baby t his doorstep carrying only but a piece of scroll with Éron Erthag written in it..."

First off, I must say it's a great thing you are trying new things to complete and give a better view to your works.
Little by little you're giving an environment to the images which makes the character introduction more pleasing because it isn't only a drawing of a person standing there with a stiff pose.

About the colours, recently we are seeing a big progression in your palette. Smooth colours, with some contrasts over here and there which combine with the character in question personality.
Regarding the anatomy, it's good and one thing I understand the reason why it had been done that way, talking about the his left shoulder, is that his hammer must be heavy as hell which makes quite perceptive why he seems a bit off-balance. And that fact has been purposely compensated by the position of his shoulder and legs.

The detailing part, i must say it's very interesting how you did the arms with all the veins and muscles greatly defined. The leaves were good adding.

Now for the bad points: One of the things I notice regularly in your works it's the roughness and not well treated hair. Try to work on this point because it contributes to the stiffness of the pose.
Try to give more personality into the poses. Each and every character transmits an individual impression to the viewer that can be more favorable not only to you but to your characters. Try adding more fluidity to the clothes, hair, and then poses.

Overall, it's a fantastic work! I really can see this, joined to mirabell, printed in an artbook.
Good job, love :>
