Painting Process Walkthrough by NightmareGK13 Painting Process Walkthrough by NightmareGK13
So guys remember my first Process Walkthrough? [link]
major fiasco huh

so, after a while
i was asked by sketch magazine to do one for them
and i made this one

but truth be told, almost 2 years passed and not even a word
so
i ended up using this tutorial to help out a friend and his work
im talking about :icongdsworld: and his magazine, which was launched recently

The rest is pretty much self explanatory

so speaking of the tutorial
it's not really a tutorial
i apologize for not revealing as much as i'd like but im very over protective of what i do, i guess you can say im afraid or something
magicians to the same with their tricks though, even though they reveal it sometimes, it's always up to the magician to make it work.

so this is more of a walkthrough process kinda thing
the text is more to guide you through my painting process, pretty much like the older one was...
come to think of it why the hell did i do this anyway :XD:

anyways enjoy
and i hope this is helpful to you all
i posted this EXACTLY as it is on the Concepteez magazine

~cheers

p.s. sorry for the large file

So when you say that blend is a big no no for actually blending, how do you do it (or suggest a beginner to do it)? Or is that part of the magician's secrets? lol

it's not a secret, what i say is a big nono is the blender brush or the smudge tool for blending at a beginner level
for beginners i suggest a lot of practice using the eyedropper tool, constantly picking intermediate values and blending it softly using a hard round brush with pen pressure

Where do you go to adjust the pen pressure settings?

:iconnightmaregk13:
NightmareGK13 Featured By Owner Sep 10, 2011  Student Digital Artist
on photoshop press f5 to bring up the brush panel, you'll have lots of settings to tweak there ;)
if f5 doesn't work, go to either view or window, and search there for brush panel or something close to it

You know, you'll live in those shadows for a while and then someday you make something and you just go "OMG! Did *I* do that?" and it casts an even bigger shadow. That's how you know your evolving. ;)

Hey, neat idea about having an additional white layer. Is the thin black line over the picture on purpose? I've seen several images over the net who also have a thin black line somewhere around the middle. Is that some sort of anti-theft measure?

you don't need big bucks to get a good tablet
just buy a bamboo for starters
needles to remind you i only bought an intuos this year...
all the works i did prior to march this year were done on a bamboo :P
and they're not that expensive

you can get one for 45$ or so i think
no the top bamboo of course but it's better than nothing i suppose

but yes i know it's very difficult
like it's also very difficult for me to save up for a ps3 with nearly no income whatsoever
thats i why i need that job
not for the ps3 duh
but to get some decent income
