Paliote HD model by NightmareGK13 Paliote HD model by NightmareGK13
this is my first official model

i modeled every polygon, from the planification at the top, took me about one afternoon to get it all done, 1778 polygons or something like that don't have the number in my head but it was plenty.

Then, since im very unexperienced, i took it to my teacher, which gets full credit on this one, he made the sphere, he bent the planification, then spherized it, after that he extruded 3 times to make the subdivisions, so credit goes flly to him, i only made the planification as seen above, but i think i have some merit right? i didn't know how to spherize it otherwise i would have done it myself.

but other objects will come :D specially for my animation

also i'd like to share my teacher's link with you guys
it's in Portuguese and has some work from him when he was around my age and earlier right now
[link]
one of the most influent teachers i've had and he still hes and i hope he continues to be during my years in college

for those of you that don't know what this strange sphere is, it's a paliote from Lineage 2, i decided to make an HD version of it since the in-game model of this is a low poly, just with an alpha channel applied and some neat glow, that i will add to this once i know how to mess with layout
you can find the concepts i did of it here

i actually made a low poly of this but i frgot to add it to the page ^^;

~cheers

then you better have one hell of a patience :XD:
in the end i had 5 sided polygons and had to start halfway through because i ended up modelling an extra 700 polygons that weren't needed :P

Well... not really. It died. Poor thing. You can't imagine the pain of trying modeling something with a damned touch pad.

But as soon as I get back to the civilization, I buy one. I'm not going to give up the Paliote-project due to some hardware issues. ;)

Very nice Work! I would totally love to see some crazy UV mapping on this, or lighting effects even! I'm mostly impressed by the poly count. Very Very nice!

thank you very much :D
as far as uv goes, still a noob and waiting for proper class to help me out, same goes for lighting, i think thats worked out on ayout, but it will have reflections lighting and the inner glow, as well as some rust to go along :D

looks really great as usual man! I also saw your first zbrush piece, VERY impressive!

if i may: if you mask your design onto a sphere in zbrush either painting using the standard brush or just alpha over it and then in the geometry "extract" it. [link]

thats just how i'd do it but yours definitely looks awesome!
