Glad that I was able to finish one more piece before college restarted. Now it's back to writing, god how I miss writing. Hopefully this character render isn't under par with Iurlass'. It's a bit annoying tho that I can't keep a certain consistency, sure if I go back I could mimic the style I had before college started and end up with the old renders I had, but i grow tired of some of the renders I do, hence the variation in styles. Still struggling to get one of my own that i am happy with.
Although with each render technique i use more and more from the previous one, I feel like I might be closing in on the one I like and I'm happy with, let's give it more time
Given proper time, I might do some quick character sketches like the ones I've been doing more regularly, those are always fun to do and help me play around easily with the character instead of jumping for these ones straight ahead.
Don't worry, quality wise this one's just as good, especially the costume design. There's something mysterious about him that grasps your attention. It probably has to do with the lighting and this nice fading effect you used. 3D turning into 2D in the same painting. Great solution, you're mastering it
very glad I'm nailing that effect, initially it wasn't my intention but as I went along I started playing with lighting and texturing more trying to achieve different results. 3D did help a lot on my 2D pieces, not that i use it a lot, not that I use it but it did help understand shapes better and traditional drawing helped immensely, looks like the break was a needed one.
i was planning to make a self portrait with it :c
shame
thanks
need to find some work fast x)

Hmm... I'm going to have to begin exploring some of these patterns myself!!!
